You can file a complaint about MIC tops to your state consumer protection division. To save time submitting to your attorneys general at the state level, here’s some text to copy, edit, paste and send to your state consumer protection division (links provided):

I am the owner of a [INSERT YEAR] Ford Bronco equipped with a molded-in-color (MIC) plastic top. Unfortunately, the roof has begun to crack prematurely. While Ford is currently replacing the top under the factory warranty, I am concerned about the long-term implications of this known defect.

Once the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty expires, this issue will no longer be covered, leaving owners like myself responsible for a costly repair or replacement. There are already hundreds of documented cases of similar MIC roof failures reported by other Bronco owners, suggesting this is a widespread and well-known defect.

Given the recurring nature of this issue, I believe Ford should stand behind the quality of their product by extending warranty coverage for MIC roof failures for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle. This would be a fair and reasonable resolution, and would help restore consumer confidence in the brand.

BRONCO TOP GENERAL SERVICE BULLETIN

Ford released a General Service Bulletin about all Bronco tops. If your MIC top is showing issues, it’s a good idea to bring this to your dealer for warranty claims.

Thanks to BRONCO6G.com and forum contributors for bringing this to our attention.
